This issue of FILM PANIC Magazine brings together the first articulations of a new international movement of avant-garde filmmakers known as the New Visionary Cinema.
The films of the New Visionary Cinema are exploratory, experimental and immersive sensorial experiences, this is a first person cinema for both the creators and the audience. These films are a place where the imagination is unleashed, uncensored and free – it is not a cinema of definitions, it is a cinema of paradoxes and continuous creative exploration. Questions such as ‘what is cinema?’ and ‘what is it to be a human being?’ are still open for these filmmakers and through their work they seek to unearth new possibilities.
